Funerals, Fraud, & Fireworks

So we had a CrAzY couple of weeks. This post I should have done a while ago, but like I said CRAZYness!!! Lets start back Tuesday June 30th. That night was a "In Memory Of..." get together for Brian Beecroft. Brian was a long time friend of Austin's . They knew eachother since they were kids. When Austin and I started dating I got to meet Brian and hang out with all of them. Here is the obituary from the paper...

Brian Earl Born May 24, 1984, at the age of 25, returned to his Father in Heaven, on June 20, 2009, after his battle with colon cancer. Brian grew up in Gilbert, Arizona, attended Highland High for three years and then he graduated at Higley High. Brian was an amazing individual , he loved his Ford Lightning, motorcycles, sand rails, advanced diving, wakeboarding, snowboarding, photography and fishing. He excelled at all he loved to do. We all admired him. He had such a tender heart and strength beyond what anyone could imagine. He will be missed dearly.

Austin really had a hard time with Brian passing away. Austin had made this knife for Brian and was going to carve "Warrior" on the handle but didn't have the tools to do it. Austin was planning on giving him this knife before he passed but the call came sooner then Austin thought. He ended up giving it to Brian's mom. The funeral services were held on Wednesday July 1st. Austin was asked to be one of the casket barriers. The funeral was really nice. I cried so much!

On Friday evening (July 3rd) Austin got a call from Bank of America stating that somebody in Mexico was trying to spend over $2000 on our credit card!!! What the HECK!!! This whole thing is still so bizzare to Austin and I because we both had our cards. PLUS we NEVER used our credit card in Mexico when we were down there. SO we have no idea how someone got our card number. We have had such bad luck with Mexico lately. This is now the 2nd year in a row we have had "something" stolen from us!!! So that card has been cancelled, we have been issued new ones and have recently joined Life Lock!

Then early Saturday July 4th we flew to Utah. My sister-in-law Felicia was getting baptised that evening and Austin's mom really wanted the whole family to be there. We weren't going to be able to go because the drive to Utah is WAY TOO LONG!! Jhett does NOT do well with long car rides. So Austin's grandfather got us tickets to fly up on the 4th and come back on the 5th. Yes, you read right. We were literally there for ONE night. Jhett did fabulous on the flight there. This was his first flight and I was really nervous he would be a pill. But there were only 30 people on the flight so Jhett was able to walk around. When we got off the plane we headed Cedar Hills to my in-laws home to unload our stuff and put Jhett down for a nap. That afternoon we headed to Provo for a 4th of July BBQ. The weather is so much nicer in Utah at this time of year. The high was 85 and everybody was like, "Man, this is the hottest day!" I was thinking, "Um, go to Arizona and you will be singing a diffrent toon!" The food was SO YUMMY!! Oh my goodness I was so stuffed!

Happy Independence Day!!!
We left the party early to go get ready for Felicia's Party at the house for after the baptism. Felicia had a private baptism. I think they are so much nicer then these stake ones they do now days. Everybody in the family was able to be part of it.
Jhett and Austin outside the church. What Studs!!

Felicia modeling her fancy shmancy dress. Pose I like to call the Flamingo.

I wanted a picture of Jhett with his aunts. They all have June birthdays.
I love this picture because they are all so cheesy!

That evening we just stayed out the house and watched fireworks from there. Austin and the kids were playing with little fireworks in the front yard. NONE of my pictures turned out! Bummer! It was great seeing our Utard Family! We wish they didn't live so far away so we could see them more often.

Then Monday July 6th my great-grandmother Ruth Ellen Wiehl had her funeral. She died at the age of 94. She was the last of her husband and children to pass. I tried pulling her obituary up but the sight would not let me. I wasn't too terribly close to her. She was not a member of the church so her funeral was just so much diffrent then Brian's.

All I can say is WHOA BETSY!!! Life needs to slow down a bit, and BIG things need to not all happen in the same WEEK!!!

  1. Wow that is crazy about Brian. I had no idea he was going through that. I know Austin must have had a rough time because I remember them hanging out back in high school. I hope everyone is doing better now!
