Polar Express

On December 5th we headed up to Flagstaff to spend the day with my parents. When we got up there we ate breakfast then got the key to our hotel room and put our stuff up. We then went shopping. Jhett was getting pretty cranky so we headed back to the hotel. My parents offered to stay with Jhett while he napped and let Austin and I and Scotlyn and her friend go to the movies. It was quite enjoyable without chasing Jhett. After the movie we headed back to the hotel. We had some time to kill before Polar Express and dinner so Austin came up with an idea to have a scavenger hunt in WalMart. It was actually quite fun. We got into groups of 2. Our group happened to be 3 with Jhett. Each group wrote down 5 things that you had to find and take a picture of. We folded the lists up and drew one at Walmart. Austin & I won the first round. It was funny running through Walmart passing eachother frantically looking for the items on our lists. After our Walmart excersion we went to Olive Garden for dinner. Then we headed to the hotel to get in our pajamas for the Polar Express. The Polar Express is a train ride that they have in Williams, Arizona based on the book.

When we were taking this picture a train was arriving at the station and the horn scared Jhett.

Jhett's face was priceless on the train. His eyes were ginormous and wasn't too sure about what was going on.

In the book there are cooks who pass out cookies and hot chocolate. Jhett liked that part and started warming up.

I failed to take a picture of the North Pole when we arrived but Jhett got to see Santa on his sleigh but as soon as Austin handed Jhett his blanket he zonked out and missed seeing Santa in person to hand him a bell. Jhett still got his bell. Santa gave it to me though.

Jhett amazed me on the train. He was SO GOOD!!! Not a single tear fell from his eyes. The trip was alot of fun. Definately funner now that we have a kid. I can't wait until next year. Jhett will be 2 1/2 and will hopefully stay awake.
