Holy Cow!
For those of you that don't know, Austin, Jhett, and I have been living with my parents since right before Christmas. Things were getting pretty tough. Austin was in danger of getting layed off, hours had been cut from his other job and my job was super slow as well. We started paying bills on our credit card which we had NEVER done before and it was getting to a point where we were drowning. So my parents were kind enough to let us move in with them. Thankfully, Austin was NOT layed off and things picked up at his other job. There was a girl who quit at my work so I was able to pick up more hours and we got our credit card payed off in March. WAHOO!! So ever since then we have been saving our MONEY and we are finally in a position to get a home!!! Well a couple of weeks ago we got with a realtor who had a lender who we got prequalified through. WE QUALIFIED and are super excited. I was nervous since I have been hearing that is has been really hard to qualify. Anywho... yesterday we went out and started looking. We went through about 5 homes and wanted to make offers on 2 of them. The one we really wanted was a smokin deal. 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, wood floors, pool size backyard for $82,000. The only thing was the house had been stripped of light fixtures, door knobs, blinds and appliances. But Austin and I kind of liked the fact that we could pick those things out. BUT... of course EVERYONE and their MOM thought so as well. We found out that 17...you heard me right SEVENTEEN offers had been made on that house since Friday!!!! We were bummed :( The other house had all the upgrades, granite counter tops, tile throug out the whole house, corner lot, across from a park, nice light fixtures, single story. Asking price was $100,000 and we found out that someone placed a bid of $110,000. Well we don't want a mortgage over $100,000. Why should we??? There are way too many homes out there for under. I didn't realize the games we are going to have to play. We hope we will get a house by the end of summer.
Cross your fingers and wish us LUCK!!

House hunting is stressful but kinda of fun! And don't worry about blinds and light fixtures. Those things don't come with new builds and it is better to pick out the ones you really want. Good luck!
