Quotes for the Day

"Don't play with that or you'll Poke your eye out!"

Yesterday while I was at work, Jhett was taken to the doctor to have his right eye checked out. My mom called stating Jhett's eye was blood shot red, puffy, and had red bumps all around it and he had been screaming bloody murder for the last hour. Unfortunately I was working by myself so I couldn't leave so Austin met up with my mom. Later he called me to let me know that Jhett scratched his eye up pretty bad. The doctor was surprised to see Jhett even had his eye open for as bad as it was. Jhett has to take antiobiotic eye drops for the next week in hopes that an infection won't occur. We also have to keep him from rubbing/touching his eye. I have my work cut out for me.

By the time I got home his eye wasn't as bad... I guess. I had the camera in my purse so this is the picture we have. Poor Baby! He has a follow up appointment on Friday.

"Sleep tight, Don't let the Bed Bugs Bite!"
This morning while cleaning Jhett's room gathering up his dirty clothes I decided to throw his sheets and blanket in. When I went to take off the sheet I found a bunch of little bugs. I was like GROSS!!! WHERE THE HECK ARE THESE COMING FROM??!! Then I remembered we had some food storage under his crib. So I immediately started ripping everything out when I found the source... a bag of macaroni noodles full of these things!! So I spent the morning tearing apart his room, moving furniture and vacuuming over and over and over again. I still get the heebie jeebies thinking of it!

I had to know what these bugs were and I found it. Here it is. It's called a Red Flour Beetle and apparently they like pasta!

SICK!!!! I'M SO DISGUSTED!!!! The worst part about this whole thing is for the past week I've been noticing 1 or 2 of them and just thought with the heat you generally start seeing bugs in the house and never once thought to check the food. Now I wonder if Jhett has been getting bit by these things. So my mom called my dad right away and told him it was time that our house got sprayed! It's nice to have a bug man for a dad!!

  1. Poor guy!! For both the eye and the bed bugs! It's a good thing you noticed though, can you imagine him spending another night in the bed with those things?! That's crazy, I still can't believe it. I'd definitely freak if I were you!
