Mother's Day
I LOVE being a mom to these two Stud Muffins!!! I never fully understood how much my mom loved me until I had Jhett. It's amazing how much a small person can change your life. I couldn't be the mother I am if it weren't for my mother & the example she is to me. I also have some amazing mother-in-laws who I am so grateful to have in my life.
This year instead of flowers, Austin got me this chair that I had my eye on at Goodwill. Funny Story. So I actually saw it a couple weeks before Mother's Day & had showed Austin. The price tag was $30. Not a bad price for a wing back chair. The upholstery was totally beat to crap but I wanted to redo it anyways. Austin said "no" at the time & I figured the chair would be long gone being that Saturday everything in the store was 50% off. Well I end up going back to that particular Goodwill to look for a vintage dress for a tea party. It was dollar day. So everything in the store that had a pink tag was $1. To my surprise that chair was still there & it had a pink tag! I had no way of transporting it home, plus Austin had told me no previously so I kept walking. I ended up scoring a couple of vintage dresses for $1 & left. The whole way home I kept thinking about that chair so I called Austin & told him that the chair I wanted was still there & $1. He ended up going back & getting it for me but when he got home he told me he went back & the chair was long gone. I was so bummed & kept kicking myself for not just buying it when I was there.(Lesson learned: buy furniture for $1 when you see it) I went up & showered & when I came back downstairs there was the chair with a note on it! Oh my husband, such a sneaky man. I have to admit, it actually made the surprise even better.
